Wild Common Still Strength Blanco Tequila 750mL is the unfiltered, 100-proof version of Wild Common's blanco — bottled at 50% ABV straight off the still with no chill filtration and no additives. It's the bottle to reach for if you think most blancos have been watered into politeness.

Process & Profile

Made at Cascahuín (NOM 1123) in El Arenal, Jalisco, a distillery the Rosales family has run since 1904. Master Distiller Salvador Rosales Trejo — "Chava" — roasts the agave for 72 hours in small 12–16 ton brick ovens, then splits extraction between a traditional stone tahona and a roller mill and blends the two distillates. Fermentation is natural with agave fibers left in the tank; distillation is twice through small copper and stainless pot stills. The brand's founder, National Geographic photographer Andy Bardon, met the Rosales family while shooting in Jalisco and built Wild Common around their process rather than a contract recipe. The team chose 50% ABV deliberately — their words: for its big aromas, textures, and flavors. Verified Additive Free by Tequila Matchmaker.

On the nose, bright citrus peel, warm cinnamon, a whisper of anise, roasted agave, overripe stone fruit, and something bready — unleavened dough straight out of the oven.

On the palate, cooked agave sweetness up front, then baked apple, citrus oils, white pepper, and a chalky minerality that keeps it from turning candied. The texture is the point: velvety and thick without the sharpness the proof would suggest.

The finish runs long, moving from peppercorn heat into fresh herbs and lingering agave sugar.

Wild Common's standard blanco sits at 43% and is the more approachable pour. This one is the same liquid philosophy at full volume — unfiltered, cask-adjacent in weight, and the reason the brand shows up on additive-free lists next to producers charging considerably more. At the proof, it also survives a cocktail intact rather than disappearing into the lime.

Serve neat in a copita — no ice, which flattens the citrus. If you're mixing, it makes a Tommy's Margarita that actually tastes like agave.
