Blanton's is the Original Single Barrel Bourbon made in the US. When Elmer T. Lee, Master Distiller at Buffalo Trace, was assigned to create a great bourbon he remembered the earlier days of his career spent with his then-boss, Colonel Albert B. Blanton. When Blanton was the president of the distillery, he would regularly pick "honey barrels" from Warehouse H and specifically bottle that bourbon. To pay tribute to Blanton's tradition, Elmer T. Lee named his new, great bourbon "Blanton's Single Barrel."
