GlenAllachie was built in 1967 on a 20-acre estate near Aberlour and spent decades as a quiet workhorse for blends under Chivas and Pernod Ricard before Billy Walker — the man behind the revivals of BenRiach and GlenDronach — assembled the group that bought it outright in 2017. The 12-year launched the following year as the range's cornerstone, and Walker hand-selects the casks that go into it: a mix of Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry, virgin oak, and red wine casks. It is bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered, and with natural color, and in 2025 the release was named World's Best Single Malt at the World Whisky Awards.
