Learn MoreLock & Load Carbine Gun Collector's Edition Bourbon Whiskey (1.75L) is an American bourbon sold as much for its vessel as for its liquid: a full-size carbine rifle rendered in glass, holding 1.75 liters of 80-proof whiskey. It is built for the gift buyer who needs a centerpiece that gets talked about the moment it leaves the box.
Process & Profile
Bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof) in a 1.75L carbine-shaped decanter, this release comes out of the AIKO Brands portfolio, which ships the gun-format line four bottles to a case. The mash bill leans on corn sweetness and American oak rather than high-rye heat, and that is deliberate: at this size and this proof, the whiskey is meant to pour easily for a room full of people rather than be dissected in a tasting flight.
On the nose, sweet corn and buttered vanilla lead, followed by toasted oak, a light dusting of cinnamon, and a soft orchard-fruit note underneath.
On the palate, caramel and brown sugar arrive first, then baking spice, a hint of barrel char, and a stewed-apple sweetness that keeps the mid-palate from turning dry.
The finish is medium-long and warm, closing on oak and vanilla with the char note fading last.
The Carbine is the rifle-format sibling in Lock & Load's gun-shaped series. Where the Bullpop reads compact and modern, the Carbine is long-barreled and traditional, and it displays horizontally rather than standing upright. That silhouette is the reason people buy it, and the 1.75L capacity means there is a party's worth of bourbon inside rather than a novelty pour.
Serve neat or over one large cube. It stands up well to smoked brisket, where the char and caramel notes track the bark on the meat.
