Learn MoreJack Daniel's Single Barrel Heritage Barrel is a limited release of just 200 barrels, built on barrels that were slowly heated for a deeper, richer toast before charring, then filled at a lower-than-usual 100 proof and aged on the top floors of the distillery's highest barrelhouse in Lynchburg, Tennessee. Bottled at 100 proof, it opens with fresh-baked banana bread, French vanilla, and cherry before moving into pepper, cinnamon, and toasted oak that stays prominent without overwhelming, finishing slightly dry with a long, gentle oak fade. Because every bottle comes from a single barrel, each one offers its own subtle character, making it a compelling find for Jack Daniel's fans and Tennessee whiskey collectors alike.
Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Heritage Barrel is a limited-release Tennessee whiskey from the Jack Daniel Distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee, made from the distillery's classic mash bill of 80% corn, 12% malted barley, and 8% rye. Its barrels were heated slowly to build a deeper, richer toasted layer before charring, and the whiskey entered them at a lower-than-usual 100 proof. It then aged on the top floors of the distillery's highest barrelhouse and was bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV).
Fresh-baked banana bread and French vanilla ice cream lead the way, followed by bright cherry and a gentle touch of oak.
Pepper and cinnamon bring a lively, satisfying tingle, balanced by toasted oak and warm baking spice. The oak is prominent but never heavy-handed, and the whiskey stays supple even when sipped neat.
Slightly dry, with a long, mild oak aftertaste that lingers pleasantly.
Only 200 barrels were selected for this release, and each was bottled individually as a single barrel. The slow-toasted barrels and lower barrel-entry proof give it a distinctive character within the Jack Daniel's lineup. Because every bottle comes from one barrel, flavor can vary from bottle to bottle, so each one offers its own take on the Heritage Barrel profile.
Sip it neat to fully appreciate the toasted oak and layered sweetness, or add a splash of water or a single large ice cube to open up the fruit and vanilla notes. It also makes a standout base for an Old Fashioned or Manhattan, where its 100-proof backbone holds up beautifully.
