Learn MoreAlto Canto Blanco Tequila is a thrillingly unique unaged spirit, crafted from 100% certified organic Blue Weber agave at an unprecedented 9,000-foot elevation in Mexico's Sierra del Tigre, where high-altitude conditions, 72-hour brick oven cooking, traditional tahona milling, and wild malolactic fermentation with ambient yeasts yield racy aromas of lemon zest, kiwi, white flowers, and pink peppercorn, alongside a complex palate of sweet corn, orange zest, and saline minerality. Verified additive-free and rested briefly in oak for smoothness, its dangerously delicious tropical fruit profile and terroir-driven purity make it ideal for sipping neat, on the rocks, or in cocktails, offering tequila lovers an authentic, high-elevation adventure that reinvents tradition.
Alto Canto Blanco Tequila is crafted from 100% certified organic Blue Weber agave at the world's highest-altitude distillery, over 9,000 feet in Sierra del Tigre, Jalisco (NOM 1636). Agaves are slow-cooked for 72 hours in brick ovens, crushed by traditional tahona, spontaneously fermented for 80 hours with ambient yeasts and fibers in open-air wooden tanks, then twice-distilled in copper pot stills. It rests 25 days in American white oak, yielding a smooth, additive-free spirit at 40% ABV, verified kosher and organic.
Racy aromas burst with lemon zest, green apple, kiwi, white flowers, pink peppercorn, candied cherries, and hints of thyme, alongside minerality, lime, flowers, and roasted agave.
The palate delivers sweet corn, orange zest, tarragon, river moss, saline notes, black pepper, pear, rose petals, vanilla, caramel, butter, and moist soil for a bright, fruity, floral, and spicy profile.
A long, smooth finish lingers with returning black pepper, minerals, and subtle moist soil, leaving a nuanced, mouthwatering impression.
Distilled at extreme elevation where lower pressures allow alcohol to evaporate at cooler temperatures for exceptional smoothness, this tequila captures unique terroir through wild malolactic fermentation, endemic yeasts, and adobe-brick aging that breathes mountain essence. As the highest-altitude tequila in Mexico, produced artesanally by Maestro Tequilero Juan Reyes at Tequila El Rocio, it reinvents tradition with pure, organic intensity and no additives.
Sip neat or on rocks to savor its bold, high-altitude nuances and tropical vibrancy. It excels in cocktails like margaritas or palomas, where its higher-proof boldness and fruity-spicy layers shine without overpowering. Perfect for enthusiasts seeking terroir-driven, additive-free blanco with sipping versatility.
It is distilled at Tequila El Rocio (NOM 1636) by Master Distiller Juan Reyes, settled for 15 days in white oak for stability, and bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV) with an MSRP around $80.
Enjoy it straight to appreciate its pure, agave forward profile, or in cocktails; its smooth finish and notes of minerality, lime, flowers, vanilla, caramel, butter, and moist soil make it versatile neat or mixed.
Its high altitude production ("Tequila de Altura") uses endemic wild yeasts for a unique lactic, creamy flavor, lower evaporation temperatures for smoothness, and additive free, small batch artisanal processes that emphasize purity and terroir.
