Learn MoreThe Macallan Harmony Collection Inspired by Fresh Coconut is the sixth and final chapter of The Macallan's sustainability-minded Harmony series — a Speyside single malt that chases bright, natural coconut instead of the house's signature sherry richness, making it a must-have for the Macallan collector closing out the set.
Process & Profile
Bottled at 46.3% ABV (92.6 proof), this expression is matured in sherry-seasoned American oak alongside ex-bourbon casks — a deliberate lean on American oak, whose lactones give up coconut, vanilla, and sweet spice when the cask is chosen carefully. That cask work is the point: The Macallan, founded in 1824, is famous for controlling and seasoning its own oak, and here it turns that obsession away from dark sherry fruit toward something tropical. The Harmony Collection's ethos carries into the gift box too, which repurposes discarded coconut fibers.
On the nose, fresh coconut leads into zesty lime and lemon, ripe mango and papaya, then vanilla, toasted almond, and a dusting of baking spice over sweet oak.
On the palate, coconut milk and dried coconut meet vanilla sponge cake, icing sugar, sweet citrus, and dried tropical fruit, held together by soft American-oak sweetness.
The finish is bright and floral, with coconut and a honeyed warmth that lingers.
What sets the 46.3% release apart is its role as the closing act of a six-part collection, launched in August 2026 alongside a sister bottling, Inspired by Toasted Coconut. The coconut here is coaxed entirely from cask selection rather than any added flavoring — a genuinely unusual direction for a distillery defined by sherry-oak.
Serve neat in a Glencairn to let the tropical notes open; it also plays beautifully against a coconut-forward dessert or a plate of grilled pineapple.
