What an excellent pour this is. I was very pleased from the very first sip. One of my favorites. Why by an overrated Blantons when this is so much more for nearly one third of the price. I will definitely buy again.

A friend had recommended this to me as a substitute for Blanton's and he was spot on. I will not go into any detailed description here, because I hope that everyone here has tasted and profiled Blanton's. Of course it is a good bourbon, but Blanton's has suffered from over-exposure and subsequent price gouging. The John J. Bowman is at a price point that gives you a good, solid, respectable bourbon, that is quite reminiscent of Blanton's (even though it is from Virginia).
