Highland Park Cask Strength Heather is a limited-edition Orkney single malt crafted from 100% Orkney peat‑smoked barley to showcase the distillery’s intensely aromatic heathered peat. Matured in a mix of first-fill European and American sherry-seasoned oak casks plus select refill casks and bottled at natural cask strength (63.6% ABV) without chill filtration, it delivers a powerful yet balanced expression of Highland Park’s coastal, smoky-sweet house style.

Intense waves of bonfire and heather smoke are layered with vanilla pods, brandy butter, honeycomb, and toasted oak. A subtle sea-breeze salinity lifts the aroma and keeps the peat richly aromatic rather than harsh.

The palate is rich, oily, and full-bodied, with charred marshmallow, creamy macadamia nuts, brandy butter, and heather honey at its core. Accents of charred orange peel, dark chocolate, toasted nuts, and peppery spice weave through a warm, aromatic peat smoke.

The finish is long and warming, with lingering floral smoke and vanilla sweetness. Hints of sea salt minerality, dry oak tannin, and dark cocoa give it a satisfying, gently drying close.

This release offers the most pronounced heather character in the Highland Park range, driven by 100% barley smoked with locally cut Orkney heathered peat. Given its 63.6% ABV, it rewards slow sipping: start neat, then add a few drops of water to open up the layers of heather smoke, honeyed sweetness, and spice.
