Got this as a birthday gift for my girlfriend as she is a big fan of Ardbeg. She was really taken aback by how light and smooth it was, and yet having the deep complexity to it. The best way She could describe it was that if you were on the beach in the Bahamas and you wanted/were handed scotch it would be this.

If you have ever been to Ardbeg, you know they are famous for their peaty and smoky whisky. The 10 is a nice entry and they have a lot of different expressions that pack a punch. This 19 year old is much more subtle and smooth. It holds all the same notes and flavors of Ardbeg, but has so much more. This is cheaper than the 22 year, and I think it's just as good. Highly recommend!

Ardbeg 19 Years Old is an annual small batch release, inspired by one of Islay’s beautiful beaches, “Traigh Bhan” (pronounced Tri-van). This rare, small batch 19 Year Old Ardbeg reveals captivating notes of gentle, wood smoke, with gusts of fresh sea spray and eucalyptus on the nose.
Smoky pineapple and aromatic wood smoke. An intensely salty mouthfeel drifts into sweet and sour notes of smoked chili chocolate and paprika along with waves of toasted oak and roasted tea leaves. Firm but gentle, soothing wood smoke carries into a lengthy, lingering finish.
