Order Napa Valley Cabernet at $79 a bottle — and 99% of the time, we send something that retails for two, four, even ten times that. Estate Reserves. Cult producers. Scarecrow. Opus One.
Every order draws from this pool. Odds are published. There is no fine print.

Two-acre vineyard planted in 1945. One of the rarest cult Cabs in the world.

The 1979 Mondavi × Rothschild joint venture. The benchmark for Bordeaux-style Napa Cab.

Famed for sealing its $150 reserve under screwcap — and bottle-aging beautifully.

Trio, six, or twelve bottles. Free shipping on 12+. Choose mixed vintages or all current release.
Every order is matched against the live bottle pool by our cellar team. 99 in 100 orders are upgraded — most go up at least one tier.
A printed manifest names every producer, vintage, and original release retail. Provenance from the winery, not a back-channel.
Bottles arrive in fitted shippers, climate-routed. Drink now, cellar for ten years, or send the whole case to your in-laws. Up to you.
Napa Valley is one percent of California's wine output and more than a quarter of its dollar value. The reason is geography, not marketing. The same alchemy of soil, fog, and sun that made the 1976 Judgement of Paris possible is still inside every bottle in this pool — and you can taste it before the morning paper arrives.
Ancient eruptions left Napa with rocky alluvial soils that bring intensity, structure, and age-worthy depth.
Cool marine air flows in through the Petaluma Gap each evening, lengthening hang time and preserving freshness.
Rooted families have farmed these hills for decades. Knowledge passed down. Standards never.
"Mystery wine" is a tired retail trope — usually a clearance bin in a different shirt. This isn't that. The pool is small, audited, and built around producers our cellar team has bought from for years. The upgrade is structural, not promotional.
The pool is built and re-balanced quarterly by our cellar team — three master-level sommeliers, two with decades inside Napa wineries. They taste every lot before it enters the pool.
Every bottle ships from a producer-authorized warehouse with documented provenance. We never source from grey-market re-sellers. If we can't authenticate it, you don't see it.
Most upgrade programs hide the math. We publish it. Our 99% upgrade rate is verified each quarter by an independent CPA — and the numbers are above, exactly as audited.
"Ordered a half case to round out my cellar. Three of the six were a tier above — including a Caymus Special Selection that I'd been chasing since the '17 vintage."
"I'm a sommelier and I was skeptical. The provenance manifest, the bottle quality, the producer mix — it's the real thing. The Trefethen alone was worth the order."
"Twelfth allocation just landed. Two Kathryn Halls, a Clos du Val, and one bottle I won't name because I'm hoarding it. The math is real if you stay on it."
Producer-direct provenance documented on every bottle. Counterfeit-free or your money refunded — no questions.
Independently audited each quarter. If your order doesn't upgrade, we credit the difference. Verifiable, in writing.
Fitted Styrofoam shippers, temperature-routed in summer months. Held at our warehouse during extreme heat at no charge.
21+ ID verified at the door. We ship to all states currently permitting direct-to-consumer wine delivery.
We track every shipment against the original $79 reference price. If any bottle in your order has a retail value at or above that reference, the order counts as upgraded. Our four most recent quarters audited at 99.1%, 98.7%, 99.3%, and 99.0%. Audit letters are available on request.
Email us within 14 days with the manifest number and we'll either swap to a new draw or credit the bottle's full retail to your account. No restocking fees.
No. The upgrade has to be random for the audit to be valid. What you can choose is the vintage range and whether your case is all current release or mixed. Selections are made at checkout.
The eight producers shown above. The pool re-balances quarterly as inventory shifts. Producers are added or removed transparently in our member newsletter.
All 41 states currently permitting direct-to-consumer wine delivery. We are unable to ship to AL, KY, MS, UT, AR, RI, DE, MI, or HI at this time — check our shipping page for the most current list.
From May–September, we route through temperature-controlled warehouses and hold orders at our facility during heat advisories at no charge. Members can opt in to weather hold or accept the standard route at checkout.
Sealed bottles can be returned within 30 days for a full refund. Damaged or compromised bottles — even after opening — are replaced or refunded with one photo. We've replaced every claim filed in the last twelve months.
You'll spend $79 a bottle on excellent Cabernet either way. 99 times in 100, you'll open something materially better than that.
