Learn MoreKrupp Brothers M5 Cabernet Sauvignon exemplifies the excellence that has made this Napa Valley winery renowned among wine enthusiasts, offering a deeply layered expression with dark fruits, savory undertones, and elegantly textured tannins that reveal notes of dried herbs and tobacco leaf. This wine represents the culmination of the Krupp family's decades-long commitment to quality, sourced from their meticulously developed Stagecoach Vineyards at Atlas Peak, where only the finest fruit is selected for their limited production. With its balanced structure, rich complexity, and proven track record of impressing even the most discerning palates, the M5 Cabernet is an ideal choice for those seeking a truly distinctive Napa wine that delivers both immediate pleasure and aging potential.
Krupp Brothers M5 Cabernet Sauvignon hails from the renowned Stagecoach Vineyard's M5 block in Napa Valley, at elevations around 1,550 feet on rocky Hambright and Haire loam soils. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon undergoes a 4-day cold soak, extended skin contact of 3-4 weeks, and 19-22 months aging in mostly new French oak barrels from premium coopers like Taransaud and Seguin Moreau. Limited production—often under 350 cases—yields a full-bodied wine at 15.1% alcohol, embodying classic mountain terroir with structured tannins and aging potential up to 2038 or beyond.
Enticing layers of crème de cassis, ripe blackberry, dark cherry, violet, white pepper, cocoa, and toasted oak, with hints of lilac, cardamom, and mountain flora.
Flush and vibrant palate bursts with ripe black cherry, dark chocolate, blueberry, black currant, scorched earth, tobacco, and warm spices like clove and anise, supported by plush, velvety tannins.
Powerful, expressive, and persistent, lingering with integrated caramelized oak, fine-grained tannins, and indulgent chocolate notes.
Sourced exclusively from Dr. Krupp's favorite M5 block in the heart of Stagecoach Vineyard—once dismissed as too rocky—this wine captures intense mountain Cabernet character, earning high praise like 94-96 points from Jeb Dunnuck and 95-97+ from Wine Advocate. Its unique Foss Valley terroir, blending influences from Atlas Peak, Pritchard Hill, and Oakville, delivers profound depth and complexity unmatched by valley-floor wines. Ultra-limited and age-worthy, it showcases the Krupp brothers' bold vision in crafting a classic Napa icon.
