Glenmorangie Signet Reserve is an even more decadent edition of the award-winning original Signet, given an extra year of aging in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. Why? Let's hear from the director of whisky creation at Glenmorangie Distillery, Dr Bill Lumsden.
"...Now, by aging Glenmorangie Signet further in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, we are taking that whisky's hallmark style even deeper into deliciousness. With its notes of chocolate truffles, toffee, fudge, and tiramisu, Signet Reserve offers layers of luxurious decadence, which will be enjoyed by whisky lovers old and new."
Deep and powerful aromas: dark chocolate sponge cake and intense espresso coffee. As the nose develops, more coffee and chocolate flavors mix with hazelnut cream, orange zest, and muscovado sugar.
This is a big, mouth-coating whisky with a texture that coats the taste buds from the first sip. It has notes of chocolate truffles, toffee, treacle, and fudge. Then, there are notes of Turkish coffee and roasted coffee beans. Some toasted cinnamon emerges, mixing with orange oil, citrus, milk chocolate raisins, and raspberry.
Incredibly complex flavors of coffee and chocolate develop in the lengthy finish. More creamy toffee eventually finishes in the familiar taste of tiramisu.
