The Halloween Drop is Bourbon Central's allocated-bourbon restock window — late September into October, when distilleries release the year's remaining allocated batches before the November and December holiday drops take over. Every bottle in this collection is genuinely limited by the distillery, not by us: allocation means a distributor gets a fixed number of cases per quarter regardless of demand, and once a batch sells out here, it's typically gone until the next allocation cycle.
Right now that includes the Buffalo Trace Bundle ($299.99) — Blanton's, Eagle Rare and E.H. Taylor Small Batch sold together, which is the fastest way to taste three tiers of the same distillery's allocated output side by side. Eagle Rare 10 Year ($69.99) is the entry point into that lineup on its own: a 10-year age statement that used to be considered "easy to find" and increasingly isn't, at a price that still looks reasonable next to what allocated bourbon costs elsewhere.
W.L. Weller 12 Year ($179.99) is here for wheated-bourbon drinkers who've been priced out of Pappy Van Winkle — same mash bill lineage, same distillery, a fraction of the secondary-market markup. Booker's 2025-02 "By the Pond" ($109.99) is the newest arrival in the drop: Booker's releases small, uncut, unfiltered batches several times a year, each with its own name and proof, and this one just landed. And if rye is the gap in your allocated shelf, Michter's 10 Year Single Barrel Rye ($284.99) is one of the most sought-after annual releases in the category, full stop.
A few of these bottles are still out of stock as of this writing — Van Winkle and additional Booker's batches from earlier in the year sold through and haven't restocked at the time of publication. That's normal for allocated bourbon: distributors release inventory in waves, not all at once, and a bottle marked unavailable today can come back next week without notice. The honest move if you're chasing something specific is to check back rather than assume it's gone for the season.
Stock moves fast and without warning on allocated bottles — a SKU showing in stock this morning can be gone by evening. If a specific bottle isn't here, check our full Bourbon collection for what else is currently available, and see our Halloween Drop buying guide for how to think about allocated bourbon without falling into flipper pricing.
