Cumberland Falls Small Batch Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey

Cumberland Falls, Kentucky Straight Bourbon, is named after a unique and scenic landmark in Kentucky. The Bourbon honors its remarkable beauty and native spirit. An astonishing feature of the site is the moonbow, a lunar rainbow visible during a full moon.

This 4-year-old is the only whiskey bottled under the Cumberland Falls brand, so let’s give it a spin.

Big peanut notes and caramel corn come together on the nose to offer a rich and slightly syrupy texture, with restrained notes of char and some torched greenery elements clinging to the nostrils. It’s youthful and a bit weedy but never brash, and I feel like it would make a solid base for mixing.

I found the palate gentler than expected, with an intriguing caraway quality. NCoconut and sesame notes are friendly but mild additions, and herbal notes grow more forceful with time in the lass. Vanilla and caramel dominate the finish, sprinkled with crushed peanuts.
